Hi Di,

Larry will not lead again this year, he has earned his retirement, he was an amazing leader and friend to me! I don't know how many years I will be returning to Alaska. I love mushing and want to continue racing.

I miss my Grandmother very much. I also miss the dogs.

Hi Marcia (emwcee)
One of the most surprising things was the warm reception that I got from the people in the villages along the trail.
They are both great races that are very different so it is hard to answer!
I learn something new from every race that I run!

Hi Newton.
So pleased to have you join our "Ask a Musher"
My husband and I are avid fans of yours and wish you the very best as you enter the Iditarod as a Veteran Musher!
Will you ever do the Yukon Quest again?

Enjoy your time in Alaska
Val Parker (Minipins444)

Welcome Newton-
I remember you had some clothing issues with what you wore under your outerwear last year and other mushers gave you a hard time- might have been when you were doing laundry along the way? Anyway what different clothes will you try under the outerwear this year?

Hi JeanieB,
I was happy to see that finish line! Going through the blizzard was very frightening.
It was hard to leave them all but it was really hard to leave Larry as he took care of me during the race.
The interest is growing in Jamaica as the Jamaican newspapers report on my races.
I love music and listen to a lot of reggae on the trail.
Thanks for inviting me to your forum!

I enjoyed the Quest very much, it was my first really big race and I would love to run it again one day!

Hi Cindy, Libby and Hank (libby the lab)
Yes, that is so! This time I am well equipped! I will also be wearing the best outerwear - Canada Goose and I am making sure that I have better mitts too.

Hi Heidi,
I am happy to take part in the forum.
My short-term goal is to train hard and complete the Iditarod. My long-term goal is to become a better musher and continue representing my country.
It would be very hard to leave my family and friends in Jamaica so I do not think I would move!

Hey Pete (jplife),
Irie!
My feet don't bother me as much as my hands! I have good mitts this year so that should help. I have also gotten frostbite on my nose each time but other than that I handle the cold well. No problem with bathroom stops!
Hail up your sister in law for me!

Hello Newton
Are you going to run the stage stop in Wyoming?
Best wishes on the trails this year.
