Summit Quest 300 Facebook Page

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Volunteers and fans have always maintained facebook pages related to the Yukon Quest sled dog race. This has not only helped to spread the word about the Yukon Quest as a wilderness race. It also brings the true nature of mushing much closer to those who never hooked up a team and never had to feel scared when trying to pull the hook while 12 well fed dogs really wanted to put some miles under their feet.
The 'YQ 2021' page, the 'Yukon Quest 300' page and the 'Checkpoint Mile 101’ page dedicated to the old mail trail of the Quest are just a few examples to be mentioned here. Thank you all for your expertise, your efforts and your interest in keeping Alaska’s life style and state sport alive.
Yukon Quest (Alaska) has now created the Facebook page ’Summit Quest’ for it’s biannual Yukon Quest mid distance sled dog race.
The decision to create this page was not made to compete with other facebook pages. It was created so future official information about the ’Summit Quest 300’ can be posted as soon as possible on one single page before and during the upcoming Race in 2021.
As time allows, we will make every effort to post important news here and on the above mentioned pages as well as others. But as race time draws closer, our time will be limited to post on all of them.
As some of you probably know from experience, bandwidth and upload capability for posting along the 'Summit Quest' across Eagle Summit and into Circle will be very limited.
We will do our best to inform you now and also during the Race.
Dogs and mushers first, media second.
