Finger Lake Checkpoint #1

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Hugh Neff is now through FL. ITC still doesn't have the exit times in Skwentna for Lance, Hugh, Jessica or jim L.

The last ITC update has everyone back in their correct place, at least - I can figure the rest from there. Or at least close enough to suit.

I just can't get the ebb and flow of the standings board yet. I was disappointed to see my top pick fall from 38 to 60-something one minute. The next minute (literally) they've got him in the 6th position. Go Hans!!!!!!!!!!!!

looks like martin is just in front of lance and traveling down hill if you check the altitude elevations.

Finally, new update. Kjetil Backen left the cp at 0955 just after and before a bunch: DeeDee, Ken Anderson, Alie. Positive is: he's got almost 5 hours rest, more than anyone else at that checkpoint (some have ofcourse resten on-trail). He is a little over 2 hours behind Mitch Seavey who is most likely in the lead. This will be most exciting. And what about our dark horses? Zack, Willie, Paul...

Jeff King, Ken Anderson, Aliy Zirkle have some 5 hours rest inbound FL... So has John Baker probably, and Rick Casillo.

Has anyone been able to confirm Benedikt Beisch's speed to FL?
