Rainy Pass Checkpoint #1

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

 My brain is slowing down after only a few hours of sleep. I am so dedicated to this race that I`ve desided not to sleep until Kjetil takes his 24 lay over... NOT! ;) I have 6-7 open windows on my computer at all times and I am pressing F5 on all of them all the time! My children have not been able to get in contact with med for the last 24 hours or so and they live IN MY HOUSE! (They no longer think it`s wierd that their mother takes a week off work every year from March 1`th)
Its the same every year. This year is especially exciting sinse I know Kjetil personally, we used to work together. Go Kjetil!

Next time I will try to read previous posts before asking...

Hi Tangles, doing just fine. I had serious plans of being in Anchorage this year, but too much to do at work. Next year. How's life in the UK?

everythings good been having a cracking year running the dogs. we won the ABSA championships in our class with 5 wins and 2 second places out of 8 races. so really chuffed with the team., had an amazing run last night with them! really flying! left hitting 20mph and came back the pick up and finished crusing at 20mph! amazing!

trying to get to the race next year to hook up with everyone and check a few things out for the next few years!

I see Kjetil is 8 miles out of RP now. He's probably trailing DeeDee.

Kjetil is stated to be first out of CP Rainy Pass.
Recently they switched Dee Dee and Kjetil, and Dee Dee is now stated to be in CP.
