Kjetil Backen

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

According to an Innside-video with Kjetil done before the start, he said that he would start slow this year. His dogs was more used to a softer trail and therefore not used to high speed. ;)

If this is his idea of mooving slow..... I sure am looking forward to seeing when he starts to moove fast later in the race

Strange... hurdal.com just reported Kjetil to having gone through Finger Lake and that he is now moving on to Rainy Pass, but the GPS signals haven`t moved in the last hour or so... Guess we`ll just have to waaaait and see!

It is possible, yes - snacking maybe? Anyway, looks like Aaron Burmeister has caught up with him.

Still...If he stopped right outside CP: would`nt Current Standing board have reported that he had left by now??
I just remembered that he doesn`t have to sign out of the CP unless it`s after the 8 or the 24 rest, right?

Ahhhh. Dilli is a very happy TN fan this morning. :ugeek: 8-) :ugeek:

Sorry I haven't been around much lately .. been sidetracked by some (ahem) stuff that cropped up at Dilliville, but know that I'm following Kjetil and Sigrid like a hawk .. real busy .. not able to post much yet. Trust me, nothing's going to tear me away from Dilliville Command and Control Central after the 24 mandatory.
I see the traditional dance of confusing official stats continues.
