Kjetil Backen

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

think he was snacking the dogs after his 2.5 hour run into the burn, then pulling hook and off again..lance is 9 mile sbehind and moving along nicely, looks like he could catch up and get to nik about the same time as kjetil... race will then be on i think....so as jeff didnt leave for another hour after lance... did lance see kjetil come past and scramble to get going or did he plan a 6 - 7 hour rest then move and jeff plan a 7 - 8 hour rest? who knows...but its gonna be close this year i think.

Has anyone had a close look at the amount of rest time that each of the frontrunners have put in the bank so far? That would be interesting reading and give an indication on which team is actually best prepared for the "race"
