2008 Yukon Quest

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Does anybody know why a bunch of mushers were penalized....and was it 2 hours? Including Ken? Is it imbedded in the run times? Am I the only clueless one? Maybe.....someone please set me straight. I am confuzzed :?

Penalized for not signing out from one of the first CPs.
Had no practical impact.

I was out with my telescope at 4 in the morning, but it was cloudy so I went back to bed.

Great race by Michelle. She surprised me by doing so good.

Saw it here too FDF! I've been a little under the weather so kind of out of it lately, didn't even know about it until my 1st grader came home from school and "informed" me about it! Is always cool to see these natural phenoms and knowing that a lot of you were checking it out too! I love how the internet makes the world a lot smaller! :)

Wonder if the mushers still on YQ-trail could enjoy it?

Still popping up small stories in the YQ newsroom:

Like the way they write about every one of the Quest 2008 winners, which are all who reach the finish line :-)

Good film clips, too. Sounds like wet feet--maybe even wet to the knees--is the order of the day out of Braeburn. New Hampshire's Mike Ellis and his purebred team have accomplished something to be proud of. I read he may have set a record for a purebred team.
