Cripple Checkpoint #1

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

I just noticed Jeff's speed as well! Perhaps Martin isn't the only one giving his GPS unit to one of the flyers! ;)

I notice that John Baker is also headed out now .

The current standings updated Kjetils 'line', but the out-time is still the same. The only change was that he dropped a dog....

Hmm.. Did someone say that the GPS's removed all the anxiety and fun? It doesn't feel like that right now :)

That could mean he went out at 0100am, found out a dog couldn't make it, went back, left again at around 0315am. This would fit with his strange gps-signals. But what about the low speed? Can't really think he has sick dogs, according to Jon Little they looked as fresh as Jeff's...
