GOOD MORNING IDITABUDS

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Happy lunchtime everyone! Home now and . . . . it's snowing.

Thanks to everyone for posting. I had IT problems so I couldn't post. The hotel spent three hours and many phone calls trying to get my laptop to connect. The good news was that my phone connected intermittently so I could check in on the posts. Thank you!

Good morning to another inch+ of white stuff here in the Interior Gold Rush town Fairbanks, where the North American Sled Dog race started yesterday. Unknown Rob Peebles from Westlock, Alberta is in first place, Amy Dunlap in third, and perennial winner/contender Buddy Streeper is in 8th so far.

The first two days are 20 mile runs and the last day is a 25 mile run. On the last day, last place goes out first and so on with First place leaves last. This makes it very challenging for the top placers.

Morning gang.

Nick P is resting at mile 109, a strong run up the trail from willow, i suspect he will be camping and then blowing through finger lake. heard he did a lot of camping trips in training and sleeping out with his dogs this winter rather than staying alpine lodge where most mushers stay when training. so expecting him to be camping out and not spending much time in Cp's.

Morning buds, sure is good to see so many "familiar faces" here.
Proud PaPa of the triplet litter; Aidan (B), Bailey (G), and Cameron (B). Cameron is on top in picture; Bailey, of course, is the bowhead!!

Good morning! Long-time since I last saw everyone. But still good to see so many names I have fond memories of following the Iditarod with over the years. Have a great morning and see you more online.

Good morning to all you great, dog/Iditarod lovers :)
Di*, I know the feeling about being buried in snow, but we are about to get a lot of miserable weather...rain and snow :(
So glad I'm retired and can just sit and enjoy keeping up with the race.
Retired and loving every second of it
