GOOD MORNING IDITABUDS

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Finnmarksløpet gets all the buzz, hardly a notice in the news. Though, they did mentioned iditarod in the daily summary show on television yesterday, I expect it to be more today and tomorrow. I guess it might be because Joar isn't that known.

I was in Nome in 2014 - so I won't take anything for granted. That being said, it's just fabulous knowing The Silverfox is up trail and will be under the Burled Arch to welcome the Champ of 2018, and most probably abdicate (?) and leave the Norwegian Iditarod-throne to Joar. Yihaaah!

...One of my favorite iditarod memories was Robert being interviewed on the trial while on his way to his first win (I think) and haltingly saying "I am in the neighborhood looking for trucks"

swear, I was soooooo close to putting Fiedler in my top 10 picks and didn't at the last minute. Now it looks like he's in good position for #10. I'm gonna be wayyyyy down in the t10 standing here this year.
