POT LUCK PARTY IN THE BREAKERS BAR AND GRILL

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Cheese doodle brownies, Mira? :o You must explain. A real thing, or something the girls dreamed up? 8-)

It might look something like this... sorry for the bad picture.

(I must admit, I haven't made it, but it was served on Saturday, when the bandy team tried to mark the end of season. Of course gatherings isn't recommended, but they are allowed to have team practices, following certain rules and close to the end some cakes and cupcakes just magical appeared.. one of the other moms brought this along, quite simple to make)

Recipe mira? I like cheese doodles, wonder if they are the same thing in Norway?

Bandy team? How does that translate?

https://www.ica.se/recept/kladdkaka-med-cheez-doodles-721778/ ...and google translate? But it is pretty much dark chocholate cake/brownies, scattered with cheese doodles sprinkled with chocolate....

Bandy is called bandy in english as well, but I don't think it's very common. It's a bit like hockey, but it's not roughing or fighting or really any contact, the rank/field is also bigger (like soccer).

Well, cheese doodle brownies sounds. . .um, interesting. I often wonder what causes someone to combine disparate ingredients in the first place. Thankfully, many odd combos have resulted in surprisingly pretty good stuff.

Hey Gate, good to see you! I'm starting to get more excited about this year's race too, enough so that I gave in and bought Ultimate Insider! :D Blueberry pie? Smoked salmon? I do believe I'll partake!

Hey, Heidi, Ho! good to see you here too! Some crazy frontrunners, we'll see if it works out for them! Meantime, one eye on work today, and the other eye and two hands on preparing some Crab Lasagna for the Monday nite potluck here at the grill. Should come out of the oven about 6pm Alaska time. Enjoy!

[stomp, stomp] 'Lo! [pant] Anybody here? [pant] Hello? [pant, pant] 'kay.

We got here a while ago. Want to tell you that we checked the outhouse, etc., and there is no recent bear sign around here.

I was thinking maybe a dog should stay here; not sure.
