POT LUCK PARTY IN THE BREAKERS BAR AND GRILL

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Morning race fans! I've left my famous breakfast taco bar set up-feel free to make your own! We have refried beans, scrambled eggs, bacon, chorizo, veggie bacon for our non-carnivorous fans, fresh salsa, cheese, and some sliced avocados. And of course plenty of soft fresh warm flour tortillas. I also squeezed some oranges so have some Vitamin C, too! :D

hey Team!

thanks for the Tacos! smashing!

sadly i wont be online for the live start, as i will be out running dogs. We had a week off as the temps have been 20c !!!!! yes 20c!!! here in the UK, this weekend it has cooled down so we are off out training, 4 teams to run! should be back later in the evening (afternoon AK time) so will check in and see who's about and watch the replay at work sunday morning while you sleep and join you all for the restart and race proper.

gotta dash, closing the shop while ems loads dogs and drives over. #

have fun, have left biscuits and hot choc on the stove

Have fun, Matt and EMS. The only thing better than watching dogs run is running them! :D :D

It's Wednesday, and the O'Charley's restaurant has free pie Wednesday. In honor of my favorite Musher from South Carolina (Sonny King) a few years ago 1997-2002, placing a high of 9th in 2001, (he always had pecan pies located at Takotna), I'm placing 2 Southern Pecan Pies on the serving board. Of course, that's after cleaning up the place from the "weekend crowd".
Wood hauled in and fire stoked so this is a great place to take a 24!
Proud PaPa of the triplet litter; Aidan (B), Bailey (G), and Cameron (B). Cameron is on top in picture; Bailey, of course, is the bowhead!!

<Walking in the door> Hey, do I smell pecan pie? Oh, yum. It's late, but anyone want some good, hot coffee to go with that pie? Anyone ELSE, I should say?

Count me in on the pie and the coffee. I'll take m y morning break right here beside the stove. It's in the single digits at home this morning. Probably colder on the Yukon, even if it is a warm year.
