POT LUCK PARTY IN THE BREAKERS BAR AND GRILL

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

We should install an automatic led light to go on when anyone enters the necessary, aimed at the hole.

Hey, I'll take a bear in the outhouse over a spider any day! Bears are hard to miss. Spiders, not so much. Devious little cretins, hiding in the corners, striking from the shadows, silently and patiently waiting to leap or swing on an unsuspecting passerby without a sound.

Oh, would that that were so, T. Don't let them lull you into a false sense of security.

Ok, I brought a spider exterminator. A fly swatter. Also, as long as I'm here, the danged things will find me to bite on! I seem to attract spiders and ticks. Yuck. So, stocked the stove, made some oatmeal with blueberries and warm biscuits. Swatted a few bugs on my way out.

Maybe it's ecologically sound to have a bear here - they eat insects and that has to include spiders. :D

JeanieB, my sistah! There's no disputing that I'm a spider magnet. They seek me out! Ask my friends and family. It's a good thing that my spider radar system is always on high alert. Eek and ugh.

Since Gate's blueberry pie was gone before I had a piece, I've baked up a nice blueberry crumble with wild Maine blueberries. It's on the stove top, hopefully keeping warm. There's Cool Whip and vanilla ice cream in the fridge. Your choice. Help yourselves.
