Kaltag cp. #1

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

He is and he isn't. Remember he hasn't taken his man 8 and will have to do it here. I'm glad to see him running so well. I actually had him at #2 on my TTP. He won't get there but I would like to see him at least make the top 10.

Morning. Too busy the last few days to do much more than read the threads, but just wanted to comment about Hans and Kjetil traveling together. It must be like dogs and their shadows following along behind. Anyone know if they're switching positions and if they're resting/treating together? I may be wrong but it looks like Hans has been first (by a minute!) out of the last couple of checkpoints and into the next (by a minute). What a race, huh?!?!

Remember the change to DST may influence the runtime and thereby the speed ;)

Along with that, did King rest 3h or 4h in Kaltag?

Look at the time for Gatt and Backen (for instance). Their runtime are listed as 5 hours and something, but the time in and out got six hours difference.
Same for King,s resting, he rested for four hours but the from-to time difference is five hours.

It looks like ITC are doing this correctly :D
