Nome webcam....what can we see?

Nome webcam....what can we see?

Postby Deerskin and Anja » Sat Mar 08, 2008 7:13 pm

I was just looking-again!-at the Nome webcam, and wondering-again!- at what I am seeing. Does anyone know what those two buildings are, is that the ocean out there?

and at the race end, what is visible with this cam, if at all?

I believe that's the Nome visitor's center. The mushers pass right in front of it on their way up the chute to the burled arch. But there may be another webcam available soon, so don't despair! :D :D

Probably, but I'm not sure. I've never been to Nome, but if I ever go I'm going to stand in front of the webcam and hold a big sign that says, "Hi Iditabuddies!"

Btw, I'm not POSITIVE the round bldg is the visitor center, but I think I recall being told that. John can probably verify it.

Hi deerskin, (off topic) I noticed your location. My daughter lives in KS, probably near you. Edge of nowhere I think it is:) She really enjoys it. Back to race0

i'm about 25 miles west of topeka...not as middle of nowhere as you get in some parts of the country, but far enough for this city kid! born and raised in OC, California, so 25 from nearest stores is ridiculous...thank God for internet! :D

Well she's near Dodge so I guess you can flip for who's in the middle and who's on the edge, of nowhere. :)
