Good advice about the peroxide, Luvmy. We had to use it once when our Fae ate a one pound block of Hersey's with almonds. It worked nearly instantly, but what a chocolatey mess. I've kept a bottle in my doggie first aid kit ever since.

Flower - is Opie coming on OK?

JRM - the nail? Did you go to the vet?

Don't dogs eat the daftest, unsafest things? Lots of great advise here. Thanks to all.

My little monster loves crayons! Any color will do. With three little girls there are always plenty of crayons on the floor for him to snack on. He also likes any dumb little plastic toy he can find, especially if it is a plastic animal. Fortunately no trips to the vet, just some painful poo.

Thanks AUKfan, Opie is doing OK, still not up to par, but maybe a little perkier than yesterday. She is usually just a little ball of fire, but did feel good enough today to run after the cat and give her a good bath! Something the cat is not really crazy about! She's getting to hang out with me and having massages and ear scratches, and probably will think she is too special to go hang out with the pack by the time she recovers!

Glad to hear the sore/distressed pups are doing better this evening and lots of good warm thoughts coming from two Cairn Terriers in Texas. Jeff never was much for inappropriate chewing, but Carmen is another story. Makes me laugh to think about my initial discussion with her breeder... "I want a very alpha female!" Be careful what you ask for is all I can say! We are getting ready to move and the house is in disarry, so Carmen has plenty to keep herself occupied. Last week it was my electric toothbrush (not a cheap one, of course...) with a follow-up of all the spare brush heads. Fortunately none of them ended up in her tummy although I did threaten to make her "wear" one! Good thing she is so darn cute...

I'm glad to hear Opie is doing ok. Having a sick pet is awful. You feel so helpless. We once came home to a cat howling and pulling itself across the floor with just her front legs. We wrapped her up and rushed her to the vet. They layed her on the table and took her temperature. Problem solved. She was one unplugged, happy cat.

Thanks for the update Flower. Really good to hear that Opie getting better. Sounds like the cat may not agree with that :)

Actually he's named after Jeff Lynne of Electric Light Orchestra! I'm a newbie to the mushing forum and still learning the ropes... :-)
