How many dogs will Jeff King bring to Nome?

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

I'm trying to find out last time someone had 16 dogs into Nome, but the official stats history site doesn't say...

Edit: Found it. Kelly Williams and Donald Smidt both had 16 dogs into Nome last year, but they were not pushing that hard.

I don't think it's common that any in the front got 16 dogs into Nome, but I think there is some almost every year in the back of the pack who does this.

Two may be dropped at Shaktoolik and perhaps a couple or so at White Mntn. My guess would be 14... or maybe 12.

I'm guessing 14. The official archives only goes back to 01, and from 01-07 none of the top contenders brought in 16 dogs.
