This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Tangles,
I'd be more than happy to send a donation to help Aries, when/ if there is a workable solution to his disability, AND IF the Frekkings need financial assistance.
But I am thinking that Jen and Blake may have collegial veterinary options that probably surpass anything that any one of us would have at our beck and call.
Tincture of Time is a powerful healing agent if Patience is engaged.
I know you are concerned and I know others have concerns/ opinions, but have to point out that Aries has a Pretty Lady Vet at his own side on a daily basis, and she is Mom.

And I must, losing a leg (if it comes to that) is not the emotional crisis for a dog that it would be to us humans. I have known many 3 legged furballs in my time and they were happy, healthy and just as fast as their 4 legged counterparts. It may end the trail dog career, but it won't end the dog!
