This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Hey Folks,
Pictures coming later, but Rick is into Unalkleet, and looks good. He got a huge crowd, and lots of well wishers.
Hope you got to see it, Tiff

Ahh eluciq_kennels! you made me cry! ("I heard his voice...for the boys and I....") How very cool! My goodness, I know it seems we're all caught up in the moment, but there are so many other races involved here! I'm going to borrow a phrase from ThisSpaceForRent and say:

I'm interested in all of the mushers and dog teams and don't stop paying attention until the Red Lantern comes in. So I wish Rick and all the mushers the best of luck.
And Tiff, I may not "know" you, but it's exciting to see you so excited! I'm very happy for you and your family.
Go Rick!!!

Rick,
We're all here in Nome - the student broadcast team - and we're ready to catch the first teams in, but I really wish I was there in Unalakleet to shake your hand, give you a bear hug and hear the story so far!! I'm proud to know you and work with you. You're the inspiration and it's great to know that one of "us" is living the dream!
Hope to see you here in Nome before we have to take off!! Rest up in UNK. You're on home ground now, Rick! YOU DA MAN!!!

You need to get your boss hooked on Irod and have a huge monitor hooked up to your computer so the whole place can watch
