Off-topic: loads of auroras

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Just wanted to give people a heads up, earlier today now and tomorrow it's expected very strong aurora borealis.

They say it will be visible in Europe to Spain so I guess it will be visible on the northern sky north in lower 48 as well.

And here? Of course, heavy clouds  I've put my camera on watch during night, but I don't think we will get any :x

It seems they're showing their beautiful selves in unexpected places. Folks elsewhere in northern New England have reported seeing them. We'd have to take some trees down (and maybe get up on the roof) in order to see them from here. And that ain't happening--the roof part, anyway.
