Yukon Quest Thread

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Brent is on the move. Roughly 3 hours rest. It will be interesting to see when he gets to the point where it looked like Matt deviated from the trail if Brent follows the same track. We have learned through the years that the line on the map doesn't necessarily correspond with the actual trail.

Good to have you here wirewraps, thanks for your take on the race.
And all the rest of you Iditabuds as well.

Sorry for Yuka and her dog, eating many booties is a bad thing.

Didn't know about route change, good ole iditabuds.com, if they don't know the info, it will be found!

Thanks, fladog. I started armchair mushing Lance's first Double year. I get completely engrossed and my friends all get sick of hearing me talk about it. So it's nice to have this forum. I am getting to know the mushers pretty well. Coming up and volunteering in some manner is on my bucket list. Iditarod probably.

You are very welcome wirewraps! This is a nice place to be addictive to chair mushing.

Matt is 7 miles from central.. It will be interesting to see if Eagle will change stuff.

Sleep well!

Paige Drobney just smoked it from Slavens to Circle. At first glance it looks like she may have the fastest time yet and may have been as much as an hour faster than some of the guys ahead of her.

Allen Moore's tracker has him traveling 44.6mph.
hope all ok and just a tracker clitch, but it does remind me of Martin and his flying tracker the first year they were tried in the Irod.

Edit to say; thank goodness his tracker is back to a much more normal speed of 7.9mph :)
