YQ300

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

To not mix them up.

Michelle Phillips is in the lead, just left McCabe Creek (then on to Polly Crossing and finish in Stepping Stone). She stayed for two hours.
Next musher is Aliy, she is currently in McCabe arriving ~30 minutes after Michelle left.

The third musher is Nathaniel Hamlyn, 16 miles to go to McCabe.

Question. How do the teams get back from Stepping Stone? I don't see a road on the trackleader map.

Five scratches so far in the 300. Scott Janssen, Melissa Schenke, Chase Tingle, Susie Rogan and Kyla Boivin. Haven't found a reason other than the standard "for the welfare of the dogs".

I guess they had a rough start as the others had, perhaps a bit too difficult for more inexperienced drivers?

I looked at that YouTube-video, sled-jumping with dogs is a new sport?

So a little back-tracking is done. I had seen the small roads by the Pelly Farm. TKS

Wow. Six scratches from a field of 23. Seems like a lot. Anyone have info on trail or conditions?

I posted on the YQ facebook, but haven't found anything else. Looks like Michelle Phillips is about to win! :D
