Martin finally got rid of that nasty blue parka

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Chalie may get first prize for the grossest coat but remember the yucky yellow one Zack Steer wore year after year? Each year he would show up and we would groan when we saw that coat.

I liked that yellow coat (am an avid fan of yellow). It started the race looking spiffy and clean - and by the end you didn't even want to know what the grime might be from (how can a person get so dirty in a snow-covered landscape? ... wait... I don't want to know).

I wish Zack Steer had stuck around. Him and John Little - both excellent competitors and good writers. It's a shame they didn't get grabbed by the bug permanently.
