Mandatory rests

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Martin and Jason has both taken their 8hours mandatory Yukon rest, that's the mandatory rest he declared :)

...so how long will they go before 24 then?

Jason Mackey left Tanana after resting 7h 59m. Oh Oh... I wonder if he expected this to be his 8 hr mandatory and someone screwed up.

The current standings had checked the mandatory rest off, that's how I catched it.

I think I remember we had several of those last year, and they all fixed it with adding (or taking off) minutes at the next mandatory rest.

The same with Jeff King, he also has noted 07:59 rest and ticked off the mandatory rest box.
Ray Redington jr. also had 8 hours, Ryan also most likely did it. Actually, looking at the list, there are many who possibily will do it.

People like: Mats Pettersson, Cody, Hugh, Scott, Jodi, Ralph, Ketil..

Good thinking to look at the check boxes Mira. I wasn't that bright this morning. ;) I just saw the 7:59 and my heart skipped a beat.

None of the current ten at the front have taken mandatory 8 yet. I wonder if they'll all layover at Ruby?

Then we'll see the catch up from Martin, Jeff, Hans and lots of others who have come off their mand 8s.

In fact Martin Buser is already catching up. He is in position 12 and has done his mand 8.
