In 2015, Galena was the popular 24 rest. Zirkle, Phillips, Ulsom, King, Marrs, Petit, Kaiser.
Dallas and Buser stopped at Huslia. Mitch at Ruby.

I never even put down a furthest to 24.
I wonder if the 8hr / 7.59 min is just someone adding up the minites wrong?

Charley Bejna said he was opting for Galena for his 24 - he likes the checkpoint and thought it might be a little warmer than Huslia...

34 mushers have taken their 8 hours mandataory Yukon rest in Tanana. If we assume the four still in Tanana also get it registrered there, then a bit over half the mushers took their mandatory at this point in the race.
I guess this might be the reason the field seems to be somewhat compact.

In 40 minutes Wade has finished his 8 hours rest, Dallas must wait for 1.5 hour... or perhaps they do 24?

Good point Mira. just watched a video of Dallas arriving in Ruby and declaring 8 and 24. Couldn't make his mind up he said. Wonder what he decided? Not long now and we shall see.

Wade seems to be staying for 24? He could have left 50 minutes ago (if my calculation is correct).
Dallas can leave now if he wants too.. so I guess he stay for 24 hours. If so, they can leave:
#26 Wade Marrs can leave at 09th. Mar at 20:12 (Ruby)
#26 Dallas Seavey can leave at 09th. Mar at 20:58 (Ruby)

I suppose they could choose to do the 8 after Huslia when they get back to the river. This route does seem to give them more options. Wonder if it messes up any run/rest schedules?

It messes me up! I'm having a difficult time figuring these guys out. The run/rest schedules are all over the place this year. I wish they would just get themselves organized so I can figure out what they are doing!
