Lindwood Fiedler's team came into Ruby without him

Postby mamamia » Thu Mar 09, 2017 6:01 am

All we know so far is from a short video on insider. A bunch of men standing around a full team with a sled and no musher talking about what to do. They were discussing where to park the dogs and will go out and look for him. The dogs looked embarassed and worried. It is night so right now my best guess is he fell asleep and fell off and the team kept going. The tempature in Ruby is -8 and at least 10 degrees colder on the river. (posted at 5:00 am AK time)

New note from Insider:
Bruce Lee and the Insiders are there – an hour later Linwood arrived at the checkpoint. Apparently he fell asleep and fell off his sled. Linwood and his team are in fine condition.

Smart team. Just head for the checkpoint. Glad all are OK!

So he's OK as far as continuing, that's not a DQ or anything?

He should be fine to continue. It sounds like he walked into the checkpoint under his own power so he didn't get any outside help. We will find out when the details come out. If he got help from another musher like riding in on their sled then that's ok too.

I love your comment about the dogs looking embarrassed and worried. Now I wish I had insider, just to see that. :D

I had to laugh emwcee, Someone was asking them "where's Linwood" and they looked down right embarassed to be showing up without their musher.

Great! Thanks.

Anyhow, they are allowed to get help if a dog team get loose, and this was the case now. Smart dogs! I love how they help each other..
