His team is not only fresher coming off his 24 but from what I could see he ws still carrying dogs most of the way. (or a dog since he is down to 13)

So the next question is where will Wade and Dallas take their 8? I don't expect Mitch to take his before Kaltag. His rest times since Ruby has been 2:43, 2:24, and 2:10. I don't expect him to stay in Koyukuk more than 2h 30m, just long enough to get a good meal in his dogs.

The next 8 hrs are the warmest part of the day. 11am-7pm.

Wade's video is up. Apparently the markers were down at the top of the hill. He took a wrong turn between two homes but still found his way. He declared his 8. His dogs looked great coming in and all 14 were on the gangline. He has a couple of really nice leaders. One in particular was very animated.

I went back and reviewed Mitch's video leaving Huslia and he only had 11 of his 13 dogs on the gangline. My guess is that is the way he continued to manage his team going down the trail to Koyukuk. In an earlier interview when asked about his rotating dogs and if he thought other mushers would adopt the strategy he said, "It's a lot of work and you have to be committed to doing the work." Mitch is nothing if not committed.

It's up. Mitch had 11 dogs on the line and 2 in the sled. His dogs as usual looked great. He was noncommital when asked about his rest plans saying only, "nothing special".

Dallas video is up. He has 11 dogs on the line and they look great. He declares his 8.

It is a cloudy and overcast day. I googled the temperature and it is 16 degrees. The high today is expected to be 24 degrees. It will drop to 7 tonight.

Joar into Koyukuk as well, Petit has 20 more miles to cover, if we say he will use 2.5 hour to do that, he will arrive in Koyukuk three hours before Wade can leave. Nicolas is one of the mushers hardest to guesstimate what he will do.

Aliy is moving, Ray Redington is still resting done so in 3.5 hours. Resting during mid-season and go to Nulato when he is done? I haven't really paid attention to how he went his dogs though.
