And yes, they have had more than their share of stormy weather. Great image you posted.

Also noticeable, there is two teams racing with malamutes and greenland dogs.

Exciting finish, for 50 minutes ago, they passed the last checkpoint before the finish.

The runner up had overtaken the leader, and she passed Jotka five minutes before Petter Jahnsen. I think he had a lead of 8 minutes or so when leaving Karasjok. The distance is 32 miles. It's snowing, predicted to be stronger winds and snow in the evening, making it a bit harder to break trail

Forgot to say, Petter Jahnsen did overtake Marit Beate Kasin and won.

All team running huskies are finished, fortunately the organisers extended the time limit on the second to last checkpoint due to bad weather. The two last teams left Karasjok at the time limit, making them still official in the race. One of the teams have only alaskan malamutes, the other a mix of Greenland dogs and malamutes.

I think it's great that the race can include and supports also these teams.

So do I mira, I like seeing the more traditional dog teams. Nice to make exceptions to rules when weather is bad.

Those Greenland dogs are so pretty!
