Mitch is resting in Shaktoolik, with Dallas leads the chasing group with Joar, Nicolas and Wade in that order.

This could be close all thebway to the finish and with the main pack all grouped together this year it will be fast a furious coming into nome!

Thanks!

I'm a bit worried and excited by seeing Joar so close to the others. But yes, I still think Dallas might have a edge on his dad, but if everyone is able to keep up the speed then this is Mitchs to loose.

Joar didn't stop either, Wade is three miles from Shaktoolik, Nicolas is there now.

Koyuk 808

Dallas 766
Mitch 763
Joar 760
Nicolas 758 (Shaktoolik 758)
Wade 755

Jessie 740

Aliy and Ray resting in Unalakleet (718)

Jason is next on 704.

Dallas figured that there were two things that needed to happen if he was going to beat his dad. He would have to run faster and rest less so he paused in Unk to get a little extra rest before his push up the coast. He ran through Shak to the shelter cabin. He knew he would have to rest but he was trying to get into his dad's head and force him off the straw early. If his dad were to cut rest to try and chase him he might slow down. Well Dallas didn't run faster to Shak despite the extra rest in Unk and although Mitch followed soon after he still had the luxury of 5 hours rest in Shak. That may be enough to make his team invincible. You can be sure though that Dallas will nip at his heels all the way to Nome. Mitch can't afford to to make a single miscalculation.

Thanks Frozen. Joar amuses me. His energy is almost like he is running in his own reality and every once in a while it intersects with this race. I admire the way he manages to avoid reacting to the race and just keeps taking care of his dogs. It has served him well. he has plenty of rest and good speed. If Dallas slows down he is perfectly positioned to overtake him.
