This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Further down the trail, Aily left Unakleet and Pete Kaiser ran through 45 minutes behind her. According to tracker Ray Reddington left at about 5:33 but it is not showing on Current Standings. That puts him a half hour behind Aily and 15 minutes ahead of Pete. This could be an interesting race- within- the- race although Pete is one rest cycle behind the other two.

He is nearly 4 hours on the straw now so we should see him move soon.

Looks bad for everyone except Mitch - currently going 10.5 mph (not exactly "slowing on the coast".
Nic is at 7.5 mph.
Dallas and Joar still at the shelter cabin.

Michelle Phillips rested on the trail and has gone through Unk. If you go to the Kaiser Racing facebook page they outline a strategy of running up the coast broken up into four 50 mile runs. This is what they believe Pete is doing and it looks like what Michelle may be doing as well. It begins with a rest before Unk. The first run is through Unk to Shaktoolik. Michelle rested for 4 hours just before Unk. This puts her in 10th place.
Current standings still don't show Ray out of Unk or Jessie into Shak.
