Yes, I guess they both continue to do their race, but know ow that Mitch most likely have to be in some kind of trouble to be able to catch him. Still, there is the race of second place, and stuff might happen.

Dallas just pulled out just a little over an hour behind dear old dad.

Does anyone know how long Dallas rested at the shelter cabin?
And how long Joar rested?

Judging by the fact that Mitch only stayed a couple of hours, I'd say he isn't complacent about his lead (although, unless something goes horribly wrong, his speed makes it somewhat of a foregone conclusion).

Dallas rested about 4 hours at the shelter cabin and Joar rested about 3h 15m

So "enough" rest on Dallas' team to keep going (albeit "slowly" - in the general scheme of things) for a while yet.

No wonder Mitch has that grin on his face in his pic - look at his speed compared to everyone else:

(note: Dallas' label is obscuring Nic and Joar resting in Koyuk.)

Mitch is going fast, it's very impressive if he can keep this up.

Joar opted to stay in Koyuk. Still running his own race?

I appreciate the race analysis y'all. :)

No analysis here, just a few thoughts on the current Top 20...

Obviously it's the always ever-so-humble ( ;) ) Mitch's to lose, but I'm still rooting for Wade. If Wade can finish no lower than 4th he can tie or better his previous best.

I love seeing Jessie, Aliy and Michelle all in the top 10, plus Katherine in 20th, but at this point a win doesn't look too plausible. :)

I'm a little concerned about Jason's speed...I was really hoping for a Top 10 finish for him, but now hoping he can at least make Top 15.

The rookie, Sebastien Vergnaud, has been a delightful surprise. Starting with only 12 dogs, who knew? My ROTY pick scratched, so now I'm rooting for this guy. And if not him, then Robert. Wouldn't mind seeing them duke it out from WM to Nome!

I've been watching Jason closely all race, Heidi, and in my opinion he made a mistake back on the Yukon when he cut rest and ran them 11 hours straight. They haven't been the same team since. With only a few Iditarods under his belt he is still fairly new at this snd that is a mistake I have seen many, many elite mushers make. It seems like something they all need to learn the hard way.
