This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Time on the start clock says 4 days 16 hours,
With mitch nearly in Elim and not far from white mountain, could we see a new record? Could it be 7 days... ?

Here at 9pm eastern daylight savings time I'm reading 7days 6hrs on the Iditarod website clock!
Proud PaPa of the triplet litter; Aidan (B), Bailey (G), and Cameron (B). Cameron is on top in picture; Bailey, of course, is the bowhead!!

Too confusing for my feeble mind.
But is it a possibility that the top five could match and/or break the record time?

I would not go by the Iditarod clock race time. At first it was showing time from the Ceremonial Start - then a few days later I saw it drop down and assumed it was from the Re-Start time, but again I wouldn't take it as gospel.
