This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Dallas just left safe travels!
It's highly unlikely he will catch Mitch, the question is if Nicolas is able to split the Seaveys.
Dallas is doing 7.6mph and Mitch 8.1mpg

Thanks Mira! (and everyone else who's been crushing numbers!)
Any idea how many dogs Dallas took out - I suppose the official leader board will update eventually. Additionally - wonder if you could (or anyone) keep us posted on their speeds along the way. Thanks again!

I'll try, but I got some kids to get to sleep.. But I look at the my phone and post as often I can
No idea about the dogs, usually they are quite fast on updating the stats for the front.

Thank you all for the updates. They are greatly appreciated.
Far different from the days of listening to the radio and trying to get updates or later as a "ham" and getting updates from hams along the way.
Retired, living on soc sec, so gotta be fiscally careful. Therefore, appreciate what you all do keeping us informed.
Retired and loving every second of it
