Nome finish line

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Just in time to see Larry in, looks like it's snowing and is early morning in Nome, makes for 11 people greeting him, most seems to be checkers, insider crew... But he got to Nome!

Yes!

I watched her before we went out for playing, it appears she checked out of safety but stayed there for at least two hours. Great to see her finished in the results.

Back from farmers market and Publix, clicked on the Nome cam just in time to hear the siren howling! What luck! Now to go to standings to see who it might be. I think it's going to be Zoya

Nope I'm wrong, she is already in only took 2hr 44 min from Safety. You finally finished MS Zoya good for you.

From standings looks like it will be Matt Failor he left Safety at 5:12 but right behind him was Michael Baker 5:19. Are you trackers seeing a good dog race out there?

I think Mike got there first and in a very short time in came Matt. Could you with access to the videos check that please? I'm confused, they gave Matt's time first.

Sky is slowly getting blue at the far end of Front ST. It's almost 8:30am there.

Lots of dogs in chute, both teams in with 10 each :D lots of humans and now both teams have headed to the dog yard.

Looks like Alan will get to Nome with complete dog team of 16. Really amazing to me. If he finishes this last section, then congrats to him, along with to Jessie.
Retired and loving every second of it
