This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

He was nr 1 into Manley, second into Tanana where he took his 8.
But after his 8 he vanished from top 10 (15 in Ruby, 48 in Galena (did his 24),19 in Huslia, 36 in Koyukuk, Nulato and Kaltag, 33 in Unk and Shaktoolik).
He is currently nr 33.
Did he have any problems I don't know about?

Regarding beeing early into manly and Tanana, that's typical him. He also had starting bib 15, so it was doable. i don't know, haven't seen anything, but not sure if it is anything special.

I would love to see Martin or Jeff get the magic #5 but doesn't seem to be happening. Sure hope doggies are better now.

Kathy mentioned on his FB kennel page that the dogs were sick.
I like how he just slows down and nurses them back to health. I don't think he has ever scratched because of that?
Could be wrong though, my memory is good just real short!

What a neat story Di, thanks. A real behind the scenes tale, loved it.
