This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

When you look at the times these next four left Safety, it looks as though any of these positions are up for grabs. These four all left within a minute of each other. That sounds like a horse race! I wish we had some aerial footage of this group on the trail and coming in!

It looks like Seavey is 5 miles out, about, but a few in this next group don't have GPS, so Gatt or someone could be ahead of him. And it looks as though Lance's GPS is several miles offshore at the moment. That's kind of funny.

Gatt left about 10 mins before Mitch -- and we can "see" Mitch so... Hans?
LOL I noticed Lance tooling around the ice too -- agree it's a grin

Seavey is about 3 miles out now, and the Nome cam is looking busy, so I'm thinking Gatt should be in momentarily.
