Hurricane Harvey

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Heidi when did your avatar get muzzled? Bet I just forgot about it.

We live in a mobile home so we evacuate to a near by hotel. We are keeping an eye on Irma to see what she is doing.

Gretchen, checking in w you...prayers to you and your husband and many others i know there in harms way. My oldest daughter's father in law lives just north of Tampa and my hunting pal's parents are also somewhere in that area. They used to live (the parents) near the coast, but got hit bad by one of the 'canes, so they moved inland a bit more, and more importantly are not along one of those channels connected to the gulf.

Good to be away from water in a hurricane Froz.

Thanks TX, We are OK and home to find a tree in the back yard lost many branches, hope it's not so damaged that it will have to come down.
One neighbor has roof damage, another's back screen room is laying in his yard and we lost shingles from the shed.
A lot of debris from trees and plants needing me to get a rake out there.
