From Squid Acres FB page:
Hi Squid Fans, thanks for all the awesome words of support. Paige and the team are all healthy and doing well and resting in Whitehorse. She decided it would be a gamble to continue and we just don't gamble when it comes to our dogs. The whole team ran smoothly back to Carmacks this morning where they officially scratched. It is runs like that which make a musher second guess their decisions, but we'd rather see them run strong the wrong direction then run poorly to a finish line. Thanks again for all of your support!

Yukon Quest - Official Site . 28 mins
Changing trail conditions are posing difficult challenges for mushers heading from the Carmacks Checkpoint to the Braeburn Checkpoint. Luc Tweddell and his team of 8 dogs arrived at the Braeburn Checkpoint at 4:48 a.m and said conditions were, "Not good. Not good at all." There was a blinding snow storm, deep water over ice called overflow, 6 to 8 inches of fresh snow and wind. "The trail was not visible," Tweddell said who added at some points he had to walk in front of and guide his dogs.

Claudia Wickert may be having some difficulty. Looks like she's been in the same spot for about 7-8 hours. From the tracker, it seems that she tried to go ahead and then returned to her previous location. Riley, Dave, and Rob are about 7-10 miles away from her, so we'll see what happens when they get there.

Yup. Riley just got to her location and it looks like she is following him out.
The Dalton Gang is a couple of miles behind them, so they have some experience coming up if they need it!

About 32 miles, so they still have a way to go. Currently moving about 6 mph, starting up the hills. Based on what they have said about trail conditions, probably at least 5-6 hours from Braeburn. Claudia's team is certainly rested, but I don't know about Riley's.

From FB:

It was really hard. It was super slow. It took me about 15 hours to get here. I had calculated maybe 10 when I left this morning," said Luc Tweddell of his long 73.6-mile trip from Carmacks Checkpoint to Braeburn Checkpoint.

Oops. Just realized Eggs posted the same about trail conditions above.

This morning at 3:30am, rookie musher Claudia Wickert (bib #3) from Whitehorse, Yukon scratched from the race in Braeburn.

Wickert attempted to travel to Whitehorse this morning, but turned around to scratch in Braeburn citing issues with her leaders as the reason for her decision.
