Iditarod 2018 discussion

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Here are a few:
ITC: https://twitter.com/IditarodInsider (easier than navigating their FB)

These are good:
https://twitter.com/ADNIditarod (what Mira just posted:)
https://twitter.com/IditarodKTVA
https://twitter.com/kylehopkinsAK

Have to scroll through these but they should get better once the race has begun:
https://twitter.com/dogworksradio (has good mushing info in general)
https://twitter.com/knom
https://twitter.com/Ch2KTUU

Okay, except PETA hits them a lot:
https://twitter.com/hashtag/iditarod2018
https://twitter.com/hashtag/iditarod

Great Eggs, thank you so much!

I started to search but I got too much of that flood of posts from p e t a so I got frustrated and stopped searching. That's a shame, since their "DOS" attack kind of works

DOS = denial of service used when someone are overloading services making them unavailable..

Add to good Twitter accounts: ADN Tegan Hanlon Twitter: https://twitter.com/teganhanlon
From Media meeting yesterday:
Race director says b/c of lack of sea ice, trail between Shaktoolik and Koyuk will be moved closer to the shoreline, adding roughly 7-8 miles to trail.
&
At annual meeting w/ reporters + media crews, race director says there will be security cameras added to some checkpoints along the trail. “If you see something, I want you to say something,” he tells the room.
Meanwhile Kyle Hopkins tweeted: https://twitter.com/kylehopkinsAK
At the media briefing the soaring promotional video twice dismisses talk of “conflict of interest”
