2018 Iditarod Top Ten Picks (TTP)

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Wow! I didn't really expect to win this TTP, but in the back of my mind, I thought I had a chance. Like Jeanie B says, Yes, I did my pick while sitting at the Community Center table at Willow. I sat down about 1:15pm, and with a hotdog in hand started my picks. I had a good inkling that Joar had a winning team once again. I thought his competitors would be Aliy and Mitch. I did have Nic in mind, but don't remember if i had him in my scheme.

I figured Joar would kinda lay back, which he did, but not really on purpose as he had to "restart" from his hard run to the halfway, Iditarod. But, he did make his way back up, and as I figured made his move (not really planned) on the ice to Koyuk. I figured he had the team to make a good push at least from Koyuk to Wt Mtn though.

Anyway, thank you all for all the kind words...yes, Di, in a way guess I do have an ICe Globe that I keep stored in my freezer, then take it out sometime after the Quest. I didnt think I'd score all that good as some of the mushers in my top ten didn't pan out, most notably Wade, then Michael Williams, and finally Aliy.

In any case, I'm all pumped and ready for next year!
