Norwegian races, Finnmarksløpet

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

This is great, Mira. Except the rest in Karasjok; minimum 2 hours of the mandatory 10 must be taken in Karasjok :-)

And the start is streamed on facebook live (I assume), from 18:30 this evening (that is 12:30 pm east coast).

Those mushers with RNB behind their name are running siberian huskies (bib 3 and 5).

I also looked at the start list, looks like they don't start before 19:00, but they go live at 1830, I guess it will be great footage even if you don't understand much.
Look for 15, 18, 22, 27, 28, 34, 37 and 38. That is a mix of top contenders, earlier Iditarod-mushers or though ladies. Like 37. Her mom has run Iditarod, Hanna has run jr FL three times, is 18 years old. When she was 15, she and the others in Jr. Femundsløpet where picked up by weasels after they all had bedded down during storm. I think that was the year they cancelled Femundsløpet due to storm (all distances).
