Yukon to Kaltag (Shageluk - Kaltag)

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Nice little video interview with Joar before he left Grayling. He mentions dropping his main leader.

I just clicked on the link and I still get Kristy. I posted the link from my computer and I’m on my iPhone at the moment, so I dunno... :?: :?:

Thx Eggs.

Heidi's link worked for me.
Did you notice the large pile of straw as she goes past? How about the photographer laying in wait on the snow?

It could have been a wipeout, but she made a nice recovery.

I was just going down the standings, looking at how people are doing, dog-number-wise.

Meredith Mapes, and Noah Pereira are down to 10 dogs leaving Grayling (mile 530), while Jeff Deeter only has 8.

Leaving Kaltag (mile 652), Michi Konno has 10, while Anna B, Hugh, Ketil, Aaron, Wade, Pete, and Mitch have 11.

I am worried Steve and Tara will be withdrawn for not being competitive. Maybe they are traveling together to make that harder for Nordman to do?
