This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Mitch has been breaking trail, Joar has 15 dogs. I am a bit worried about joars speed.
Nicolas has left Anvik, only 14 miles behind and he has done the 8h rest....

Haven't been following closely - trying to get some work done. But I just saw this posted on ITC Forums
This morning Greg and Bruce was on live and gave us this information regarding Eagle Island:
For those that haven’t got the latest news.
1. Iditarod CP is out of water and melting snow, they’re also running out of fuel and propane.
2. Eagle CP cannot be established so all teams will have to haul extra supplies from Greyling. The next CP is Kaltag
3. Mitch and Joar have gone through Anvik, we don’t know if they know about Eagle CP.
4. Because the leaders do not have a CP at Eagle there will be no CP there for the rest of the race, all following teams will have to haul supplies even if the weather clears.
5. There will be a vet there and possibilities to drop dogs
I guess he means that Eagle will have a vet and dog drop.
