Kaltag - Unalakleet

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

I'm guessing they are just tired of the whole game. And I assume healthy, since he's making his way back at ~6-7 mph.

He's sure had a rough race.

What else was going on? I haven't heard much from/about him, or his fans.
The last I'd heard was he'd dropped a couple of dogs in Kaltag.

Edited to add - Wait? He got sick, didn't he? I wonder if he caught the same thing as Allen?
Allen also hung out in Grayling for 24 hours, thinking he had it beat... and then scratched
when he got to Kaltag and realised "uh, no... not a healthy musher".

Similar pattern with Rob - hangs out in Kaltag for 11 hours... proceeds down the trail and
realises "uh, no... not a good idea"?
