WM - Safety - Nome

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Pete just came in - dogs look great. He must be carrying one, he's only got 7 on the line.
Waggy tails.

I don't think Ramey can go 11 mph to finish plus Jesse has a drivable team and he can run too.

Geeezzz, Pete's team are CRAZY dogs - leaping and screaming in the finish chute. He must be SO happy that they look SO good.

Definitely, anyone - go watch Casey's FB live post (which should be archived for later watching), just to see how good Pete's dogs look.

I did laugh at the peta sign held up

Hah, not much ammunition in evidence looking at these teams of 'poor abused dogs'.

As Kale Casey just said, if they could, they'd just keep running to Russia.

Yep, about how I felt seeing them. Looked like they were ready to start running, not just finishing over 1000 miles.
Some very happy dogs that loved their leader.

ROTY Jessie Holmes at the finish:

"My feet are a bit sore from running - I've got Ramey Smyth behind me" :)

Take a listen to Kale Casey's live feed - lots of good stuff with Ritchie and Jessie.

Going for that Fastest Safety to Nome award and proving his dogs have still got it?

Or practising for future battles with Dallas?

The first choice - 100%. :)

The more video interviews I watch of Nic the more I like him. A heart of gold. And kinda funny too.

Yeah, I'm sad for Nic, but I'm also happy for Joar.

The Iditarod proving - once again - it ain't over til it's over.

Nice to see Ritchie running so well! So - has it been determined? Is Ramey solidly ahead of Travis? :)
