Copper Basin 300 Sled Dog Race

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. This race is filled with great mushers and kennels!! :!: :!:
I count 11 teams capable of running a competitive race to the finish.

It has been slightly shortened due to trail conditions. Follow with track leader through their web site.

Missed Nic coming in (evidently he won) but Brent should be coming in soon in second place.

Thank you Eggs, for the address to see the finish. Got there in time to see Allen Moore cross the finish line.

Got sucked into the race today...
Dwayne has had to do these in segments, but all of them are posted here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1779600398946419/
There are more photos, videos and interviews here: https://www.facebook.com/pg/KCAMradio/posts/
Then various FB pages of the teams have this and that. (Jim Lanier's FB, which is public, has some cool 360º images of cps - scroll down for them: https://www.facebook.com/pg/NorthernWhites/posts/). The tail is beautiful and everyone says it's been a great run.

Have to say the trackers seem to have some bad glitches this year. For example, they'd show a team 3-4 miles out (with updated pings) and then all of a sudden they'd be at the finish line. And several have just quit working altogether. Not sure what's up with that.

I noticed that too Eggs. Had Alan on the trail several miles out but there he was crossing the finish line. Hope it gets fixed before the YQ.
