Norwegian races

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Can't remember with confidence, but I might have picked Sylvia for my team.

Ronny, Thomas, Birgitte and Kristian are all into Tana.

If Nina is correct, Dallas will likely leave Levajok at 3:40am Norwegian Time (5:40 pm Alaska Time) completing his 16 hour mandatory rest.

EDIT: The time changed this weekend, so Dallas can leave at 6:40 pm Alaska Time.

In FL500 (the short version), Harald Tunheim ("grand old man", he has done FL 21 times and Iditarod 3 times) and Hannah Lyrek (it's an image of her early in this topic) is within a few minutes for each other and will soon arrive in Karasjok. At Karasjok they have 6 hours mandatory rest before heading back to Alta through Jotka.

In the long version, many are doing their 16 hours mandatory rest, except Dallas who is finished, Petter Karlsson who didn't stop in Tana (as rest of the the top teams did) and are in Neiden (I guess he is doing 16 there). Roy-Åge Ugseth must also be aiming for Neiden for his 16 hour rest.

Also, in the result list, on mouse over, you can see when the computer except the musher to arrive next checkpoint. I'm quite sure this is based on the average speed of the team and not based on the GPS readings.

Wow. I think scratching is a first for Dallas. Any word on what happened?
