Norwegian races

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Reoccurring tendinitis in his dogs I believe :( **Just watched video, he said they caught a virus right when they got to Norway & they have been flat the whole race despite his efforts to give them an easy start and long rests. They just aren't 100% a lot of forearm straining-tendinitis-doesn't think it would have affected them this way or as much if they were 100% healthy.

Too bad, sorry dogs are in trouble, glad Dallas stopped them. Big disappointment to go so far and need to scratch.

Not a typical year for the Seaveys. Even Mitch has had his troubles on the home field.

Thanks for the vid, Elsie. It's a shame to have traveled so far and come up short. I'm not a huge Dallas fan, but I am totally smitten with the big brown dog enjoying his attention. Wonder who he is. Also notice dried poop in the fur "under his tail". It must be a nasty bug they're dealing with. Is it a homegrown AK bug, or did they pick it up en route to the race, or is it a bug "local" to the venue? Regardless, it brought Dallas's race to a halt. Hope everyone recovers nicely and completely.

Thomas Wærner will probably win Finnmarksløpet FL1200. He left Karasjok 1,5h before Kristian Walseth.

The cabin prize goes to the musher who has the best combined result for two last years. As Petter Karlsson have not left Karasjok yet, Birgitte Næss will probably win the cabin this year.
