Iditarider Program

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Iditarider Program

Postby sassybreck » Thu Feb 21, 2019 5:48 pm

I was on this forum a few years ago and had forgotten all about talking about the possibility of being an Iditarider. I did it! I have ridden two years in a row and loved it. If anyone has any questions about this program, please feel free to ask. Mush on!

Oh, come on! Give us the whole scoop. A play by play of the entire event. Both years! 8-)

Yes, tell more! It is on my bucket list, but still wonder what happens if the musher you want and bid on gets a higher offer than you are wiling to pay. Can you post a bid on more than one and when is the best time to bid?
Proud PaPa of the triplet litter; Aidan (B), Bailey (G), and Cameron (B). Cameron is on top in picture; Bailey, of course, is the bowhead!!
