so long for a little while...

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

so long for a little while...

Thanks everyone for a fun race... I know it's not over, but the family member who scheduled her wedding for this Sunday just doesn't know any better, so I'm off to an island in Puget Sound and don't expect a chance to check in again for awhile. I'll stay logged on tonight until the last possible moment!

Have fun at the banquet, and save me a couple of brownies, please? I'll present an early award, if that's alright:

Best Iditabuds... you know who you are!!

See ya around,
Janelle, Sugarplum and Cricket

How rude of that family member! ;)

I'm sure you'll have a good time though. How can you not, being on an island in Puget Sound?! :D :D

We'll miss you, but I'll eat an extra brownie in honor of you!!

Sounds like fun, enjoy the family, and find a computer once in awhile! I know-my youngest daughter has scheduled her wedding for March 7th next year. While I am excited for our first child to be married, I wish it were a different time!

Oh no crazeehorse, I'm sorry to hear that. :( I think I know how you're feeling. I was really sick before the race for almost a month. I hope you feel better soon and can join back in. Get lots of rest in the meantime. :) :)

Sorry you're under the weather Crazee. I'm sending matzo balls.

Thanks everyone for your good wishes. I'll hang around for a few more hours. I really, really would like to see Rohn come in...

A big bowl of steaming chili will fix you right up! Get better soon, there are still mushers out there! ;)

Not sure I can stay up another hour or so, was hoping he would come quicker than that!

So there was something on insider about Hugh? Did they talk to him or just show him?

When Hugh came in Lance was waiting under the arch. They hugged and Lance told him he did well. Hugh told him he had a message from Jason and then tried to tackle Lance. They punched eachother a few times and Lance said "That didn't work last time either", and they punched eachother some more. Into the mic Hugh said he'd considered stopping at Safety for a cup of coffee since he wasn't really racing anymore (typical Hugh) but someone told him he could catch Warren. He figured his girlfriend would be mad if he didn't even try...
